Focuses on gender equality and social inclusion and supports people in their struggles to access their rights

LST supports communities to:

Challenge and transform conservative attitudes towards women,  sexual minorities and other marginalized communities

Contest the exclusion of marginalized communities from accessing their political, economic, social  and cultural rights

Recognize the obstacles embedded in the legal system and the economic and  social fabric that deny people their rights

LST is committed to ensuring an impartial and equitable justice system. It prioritizes changing laws, policies, practices and attitudes towards human rights, advocating for rights-based approaches to ensure non-discrimination and inclusion.

This programme area focuses on the many dimensions relating to access to justice. This includes the promotion and protection of the rights of women, children, persons living with disabilities, religious minorities, persons identifying as LGBTQI, and persons encountering the criminal justice system as victims, witnesses and suspects.

Through this programme, the Trust aims to ensure that hitherto discriminated and marginalized groups will be better equipped to articulate their interests, concerns, needs and aspirations. LST also works to transform the attitudes and mindsets of people towards women and minorities and challenges discriminatory and majoritarian attitudes.
